As the saying goes, if Tai is born, way will be born. Pongal festival is celebrated as a way of honoring the glory of the working farmers, the farmer who produces the food and the cows who are the best friend of the farmers. While having Pongal in a new pot and having a great time with the family, one of the things that adults and youngsters look forward to is what special programs and movies will be shown on television.
Although Pongal festival is passed in villages with various pageants…mostly people in cities don’t pay much attention to anything other than wearing Pongal, sugarcane, and Puthadai to the house deity or going to the temple. And some people think that they should enjoy their free day at home and instead of going out, they are interested in watching new movies on television.
Targeting such a large number of fans, many new movies have been aired on TV this Pongal festival. Let’s see what movies are releasing on which TV channels…
Sun TV:
On January 15th, Sivakarthikeyan starrer ‘Namma Vaitha Pillai’ will be aired at 11 am. This will be followed by Suriya’s ‘Edhirum Vathindavan’ at 2:30 PM and Dhanush’s ‘Thirchirtambalam’ at 6:30 PM.
January On January 16, Sun TV will air Rajini’s ‘Petta’ at 11 am, Vijay’s ‘Theri’ at 2:30 pm and Vishal’s last month’s release ‘Lathi’ at 6:30 pm.
Following this, Vijay TV, in competition with Sun TV, on Saturday, January 15th, directed by Vignesh Sivan and starring Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha, will be telecasted at 10:30 am. Following this, in the Kannada film world directed and acted by Rishabh Chetty, released in Tamil and dubbed in Tamil, Petra ‘Gandhara’, a movie with a huge response, is being telecasted at 2 pm. It is reported that the film ‘RRR’ directed by Rajamouli will be telecasted at 5:30 PM.
On January 16th, Monday, the film ‘Oh My Dog’ starring actor Arun Vijay and his son will be aired at 10 am. Following this, Karthi-Aditi Shankar starrer ‘Virumaan’ will be aired at 12:30 pm and director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Kamal starrer Vikram will be aired at 4 pm.
On January 15th, the movie ‘Don’ starring actor Sivakarthikeyan which was released a few months ago at 10:00 am and the super hit movie ‘Love Today’ directed by director Pradeep Ranganathan will be telecasted at 1.30 pm.
On January 16, Sundar C’s ‘Aranmanai 3’ will be aired at 10:00 and Simbu director Gautham Menon’s smash hit ‘Vendhu Thanithu Kadu’ will be aired at 1:30.
On Zee Tamil TV… the recently released movie ‘Koffee With Kadhal’ will be aired at 12:30 and the super hit movie ‘Elephant’ starring actor Arun Vijay will be aired at 3:30.
Prabhu Deva starrer ‘My Dear Bhootham’ and Sasikumar’s ‘Ghari’ will be aired at 3:30 on January 16.
