President Erdogan’s statements are as follows:
Today, we had the first iftar of the month of Ramadan together with our relatives of martyrs, veterans and earthquake victims. Thank you to each and every one of you for honoring our table. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Municipality of Ümraniye in particular. We welcome this year’s Ramadan with sadness. I wish God’s mercy on all my brothers who lost their lives. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured who are still undergoing treatment.
So far, we have not taken any steps to embarrass the relatives of the martyrs. As our citizens in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolian region got rid of their oppression against the destructive acts of the separatist terrorist organization, tranquility was restored in the region. Thanks to our cross-border operations, we have rendered the separatist terrorist organization immobile in Syria and Iraq. Our operations will continue until the last terrorist is no longer a threat to our country and nation.
We will also spoil the dirty calculations of those who pat the backs of those who support these scoundrels and strangle them with guns. We will thwart attempts to bring Turkey to its knees with terrorism and to design Turkish politics by marginal structures. I know that embarrassing bargains on the political scene have made your wounds bleed again.
On May 14, we will all together nullify the intentions of especially those in the main opposition and those on their side to sit at the same table and to darken the future of our country around the same table. We follow together how these unacceptable images give courage to the enemies of the country and nation. Do not let the separatist organization keep watch at the door of its extensions and keep watch in Edirne, do not lead you to pessimism. Turkey has the power to disrupt these games.
As long as we firmly protect our unity and brotherhood. As a nation, we are going through days when we need more and more the values that Ramadan represents. We should make this Ramadan an occasion to embrace, especially to heal the wounds of the earthquake. It is a requirement of our fraternal duty to make our earthquake victims feel that they are not alone.
