Brembo buys J.Juan motorcycle brakes for 73 million

Brembo buys 100% of the Spanish J.Juan, a company active in the development and production of brake systems for motorcycles. The consideration for the transaction is currently estimated at 70 million euros, which will be paid using the available liquidity and is subject to the usual adjustment mechanisms envisaged for similar transactions.

The value of the transaction (enterprise value) is equal to 73 million euros. The acquisition is subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities, following which the completion of the transaction will take place, expected in the second half of 2021. J.Juan was founded in 1965, is based in Gava ‘( Barcelona) and operates with three factories in Spain and one in China that produce brake hoses in particular, a strategic component for the safety of the braking system and which will integrate the current range of Brembo products for two-wheelers. This operation, it is explained in a note, allows Brembo to complete the range of solutions for the motorcycle braking system and to expand its brand family for an expanding sector.
