Twelve years ago the first mixtape, tonight the Sanremo debut. Bresh – born Andrea Brasi – will perform this evening on board the Costa Crociere moored off the coast of Sanremo. Let’s find out more about the Ligurian rapper.
BRESH, EVERYTHING ABOUT THE “LOVE TROUBLE” RAPPER
Born in 1996, he began his career in 2012, at the age of sixteen, when he released his first mixtape “Changes” together with G Pillola (at the time Gughi P). In the second project, which arrived the following year, he collaborated with the emerging artists of the Ligurian scene: among them, Izi and Tedua. The turning point came in 2020, with the publication of the first official album: “Che io mi aita”. After three years full of successes, including collaborations and platinum records, in January 2023 he published “Guasto D’Amore”, dedicated to Genoa, his favorite team, which soon became a stadium anthem. In August the song “Altamente mia” earned him the Lunezia Prize for musical-literary quality. Before Amadeus revealed the official cast for the 74th edition of the Festival, the name of the Genoese rapper was among the most predicted together with that of Tedua: even if he will not participate in the competition, Bresh will still be part of the event performing this evening on board the Costa Cruises. On Friday he will instead be on the Ariston stage alongside Emma.
HOW THE NICKNAME BRESH WAS CREATED
Born Andrea Bardi, the stage name Bresh was born from the artist’s surname: it was the nickname by which his friends called him since he was a child. “Initially I didn’t even like him, I saw him as too xenophile and ‘un-Italian’, then I got used to it and said: let him be Bresh!”, he had declared in an interview.
BRESH, WHO IS THE RAPPER’S GIRLFRIEND
The rapper is currently engaged to TikToker Elisa Maino. The story began on Instagram, in the most “traditional” – in the digital era, at least – of ways: Elisa shared “Angelina Jolie”, a song by Bresh, on social media, he wrote to her. It all started from there: the two, however, only made their love story public last February.
