The club has described the act as a “devastating act of vandalism.”

Bristol Manor Farm chairman Jon Line emphasized the club’s commitment to community and enjoyment of the sport. “This pointless act of vandalism was a deliberate attempt to damage the club,” Line said. “I believe it has had the opposite effect of making everyone highly focused in building a friendly, successful and united club.”

What happened? A car was driven onto a football pitch and set on fire, causing significant damage.

Fundraiser Launched to Repair Damage

The club has appealed for public support through a crowdfunding campaign. “Our football club was the victim of a devastating act of vandalism,” the club stated on its fundraising page. “What should have been a joyful home fixture day quickly became one of shock and heartbreak for our entire community.”

The club highlighted its recent efforts to improve facilities and build a youth pathway. “This setback won’t stop us. But we need your help,” the appeal reads, noting that funds will be used for repairs and enhanced security measures.

The incident forced Bristol Manor Farm’s match against Avonmouth to be moved to the opponent’s pitch, though the team secured a 2-1 victory.

Avon and Somerset Police are reviewing CCTV footage and urging anyone with information about the fire to come forward.
