an observatory of British Parliament has launched an investigation into Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for allegedly failing to notify his wife’s involvement in a childcare company that could benefit from a measure announced by the current government.

The UK Chancellor of Finance, Jeremy Hunt, specifically announced a pilot test of payments for new babysitters, with more money for those who sign up through an agency. In one of these companies, Koru Kids, Sunak’s wife, Akshata Murty.

The body that monitors compliance with the regulations within Parliament will now examine whether Sunak has committed any type of irregularity, although Downing Street He has defended that they will collaborate to “clarify” that the prime minister has been “transparent” when declaring all their potential interests, according to the BBC.

If this preliminary investigation determines that Sunak may have violated the code of Conduct, the case can end up in a commission that can, if necessary, adopt sanctions against the head of government.

Sunak had already alleged last month that declared “in a normal way” all his potential interests, after there was evidence at the beginning of March of his wife’s participation in Koru Kids. The couple accumulates a patrimony that is estimated, in total, at around 850 million euros.
