The Evolution of “THE BRITISH ROCK”

“THE BRITISH ROCK” first debuted in April 2017, commemorating Paul McCartneyS tour of Japan. The festival’s roots are deeply embedded in the legacy of British rock specialty stores, including GET BACK – the world’s oldest Beatles store, established in Tokyo in 1982 – and GIMME SHELTER, a Harajuku institution recognized by members of the Rolling Stones. These stores, built on a passion for British rock, have served as inspiration for the festival’s immersive approach.
