on Thursday, Jan. 8, the 44-year-old singer shared a throwback photo on Instagram from her 2002 performance of “I’m Not a girl, Not Yet a Woman” at the 29th Annual American Music Awards, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The post sparked a conversation about her mindset regarding a potential return to the stage.
“Interestingly enough, I dance on IG to heal things in my body that peopel have no idea about,” Spears wrote. “Yup and it’s embarrassing sometimes… but I walked through the fire to save my life.” The vulnerability in her statement suggests a deeply personal connection between her dancing and her journey towards healing.
Spears continued, “I’m doing my best to keep my spirit alive and to keep dancing… I’m not sure if I’ll ever perform in the U.S. again due to extremely sensitive reasons… but I don’t want to disappoint my fans.”
However,she did hint at a potential performance abroad,adding,”I would love to perform with one of my sons in the UK or Australia… that would be amazing!”
