BRUSSELS – The Change association and its partners, the Biso na biso Student Circle (BINABI) and UJAMAA are organizing, on Saturday October 7, 2023, a conference-debate and the screening of a report produced by the young people of the association. This report aims to raise public awareness of the exploitation of resources from diaspora countries and the fight for sustainable exploitation of resources essential to new technologies.

“The event will highlight the importance of African resources, particularly from the Democratic Republic of Congo, in international cooperation and improving the working conditions of local populations,” says Dido Lakama, coordinator of the non-profit organization Change.

At a recent conference with officials of the United Nations Association (UNPA), Mr. Lakama took the time to explain to them the importance of this conference by demonstrating that what is happening in the Democratic Republic of Congo is not not normal at all. “Children still work in the mines, people do not always have access to basic needs. This is why we, the non-profit organization Change and the whole team want to help the whole world, the world leaders on this issue.”

According to Mr. Lakama, experts in geopolitics and representatives of organizations from the DRC and other countries will participate to discuss the consequences of this exploitation and find possible solutions to limit its use. He only cites one panelist, Mrs. Alice Mirimo, general director of the National Fund for Social Service and coordinator of PAEBA Cobalt to keep a little suspense for this event.

“I invite everyone. It is not only a conference-debate but also a screening of a report that affects all of humanity.”
