Bucaramanga defeats Águilas Doradas at home and is at the top of the League

by time news

Atlético Bucaramanga is the new leader of the BetPlay I-2024 League. In a postponed match from date 9, the team led by Rafael Dudamel beat Águilas Doradas 1-0 at the Alfonso López Stadium and, due to goal difference, is at the top of the championship. Fabián Sambueza, from a penalty kick, scored the only goal of the match.

The local team headed towards victory from the start. A couple of minutes had just been played when the referee awarded a penalty in favor of Bucaramanga for a foul by Jesús David Rivas on Daniel Mosquera. The VAR reviewed the play for a possible infringement outside the area, but finally – despite the controversy – confirmed the charge from the white spot. Cross shot by Sambueza for 1-0.

Bucaramanga wins and is leader

Beyond the early goal, the game lacked emotion. Águilas warned after half an hour, in an action that almost ended in 2-0, as Joider Micolta Piedrahita was close to widening the difference on the counterattack. It was avoided by goalkeeper José David Contreras.

Little to rescue from the complement. The visitor had a hard time creating dangerous plays and practically did not worry Aldair Quintana. Towards the end, the judge invalidated a goal play by Bucaramanga due to an offside by Jhon Córdoba prior to his celebration. There was no time for more and the 1-0 score remained unchanged.
