A clear symbolic setback which would almost eclipse the substantive victory. The Constitutional Council validated almost the entire 2024 government budget this Thursday, but censored a highly contested amendment which sought to create a tax haven to attract sports federations, and in particular Fifa (International Association Football Federation).
With this decision of the Wise Men, the executive therefore crosses the last hurdle for the adoption of its 2024 finance bill, which underwent a particularly chaotic parliamentary examination, punctuated by regular recourse to 49.3 and an outbreak of parliamentary amendments .
