Bangalore: India beat Sri Lanka by 109 runs in the first innings of the Bengaluru Test (D / N) when Chinnaswamy was battered by Bum Bum Bumra. Axar Patel led Sri Lanka to victory, with only Angelo Mathews (43), Niroshan Dickwella (21) and Dhananjaya D’Silva (10) scoring twice.

Sri Lanka, who started the second day 86-6, lost four wickets for 23 runs. The Sri Lankan batsmen faced just 35 balls today. This gave Team India a 143-run first innings lead. Bumrah took five wickets for just 24 runs in 10 overs, including four maidens. In the first innings, Sri Lanka struggled for only 35.5 overs.

Batting first, India were bowled out for 252 in the first innings. Leading batsmen, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, were disappointed when Shreyas Iyer, who struggled with a half-century in the middle order, helped India to a better score. In ODIs, Shreyas became India’s top scorer with 92 off 98 balls. Rishabh (39 off 26 balls) and Hanuma Vihari (31) were the other notable contributors.

For Sri Lanka, Lasith Embuldenia and Pravan Jayawickrema took three wickets each while Dhananjaya D’Silva took two wickets. India, who won the first Test in Mohali, can sweep the series if they win in Bangalore.
