“It would not be the right choice for a fast bowler to lead a team,” said former bowling coach Bharat Arun.

KL Rahul, Rishabh Bandh and Jaspreet Bumra are also in the Test captaincy squad. In an interview, Bharat Arun said, “Pumra deserves to be the captain. But if Bumrah is given the captaincy responsibility, will he ever be able to retain all three format matches? The captain must be given enough space between matches and between series to stay refreshed. With that in mind, I’m not sure if Bumra will be the captain.
KL Rahul, Rishabh Bandh and Shreyas Iyer are one of the three who are qualified to lead the team. It depends on how they act at a particular time. I want to see a batsman as captain because he can play in all three formats without resting in any series.
