Burley Idaho Temple Dedication: President Oaks – January 2026

Burley, Idaho — A new landmark will soon grace the landscape of southern Idaho. Prophet and President Dallin H. Oaks of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will dedicate the Burley Idaho Temple on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 10 a.m. Mountain Standard Time.

A Temple for Southern Idaho’s Growing Faith Community

The dedication will be broadcast to congregations throughout the temple district.

• The Burley Idaho Temple will be the 11th temple in Idaho.
• Ground was broken for the temple on June 4, 2022.
• The temple occupies a 10.1-acre site at 40 South 150 East, Burley, ID 83318.
• The dedication ceremony will be led by President Oaks, accompanied by his wife, Kristen, and other Church leaders.

What is the significance of a temple dedication? A temple dedication signifies the completion of a sacred structure and its consecration for holy ordinances, considered a pivotal moment for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

President Oaks will be joined by his wife, Kristen, as well as Elder Steven R. Bangerter, Executive Director of the Temple Department, and his wife, Susan, and Elder K. Brett Nattress, General Authority Seventy, and his wife, Shawna, for the dedication.

The public had the opportunity to tour the temple for more than two weeks, with the open house concluding on November 22, 2025. The two-story structure encompasses approximately 45,300 square feet.

The temple’s construction followed its announcement by then Church President Russell M. Nelson during the April 2021 general conference. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 4, 2022.

Idaho is currently home to more than 480,000 Latter-day Saints organized into approximately 1,275 congregations. The Burley Idaho Temple will join existing temples in Boise, Caldwell, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls, Meridian, Montpelier, Pocatello, Rexburg, Teton River, and Twin Falls, further serving the faith community within the state.
