Baruch Dayan HaAmet: Gershon (Kurt) Rothschild, president of the Mizrachi movement, one of the most prominent activists in organizations related to religious Zionism, passed away at the age of 101. His funeral will be held tomorrow (Monday) at 1:00 PM on Mount of Beatitudes in Jerusalem.
In addition to being Chairman of the Board and Co-President of the World-Eastern World Center, Kurt was a member of the Board of Directors of the United Jewish Communities in Toronto, the United United Nations (UIA), Yeshiva University, Bar Ilan University Lev Academic Center and Shaare Zedek Hospital.
The Bnei Akiva World Movement paid tribute to him: “Rothschild, who was the president of the Mizrahi movement, dedicated his life to strengthening the State of Israel and to Jewish education. He was one of the leaders of Canadian Jewry and a partner in religious Zionism.
