New Delhi: The counting of votes is progressing for 3 seats in the Lok Sabha by-elections and 7 seats in various Assembly constituencies. In Tripura, the BJP is leading in three of the four assembly constituencies where by-elections were held. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha won from Bordeaux constituency. Saha won by 17,181 votes. The BJP is leading in Jubrajnagar and Surma. In Agartala, Congress candidate Sudhip Roy Burman is leading with 17,431 votes.

In Uttar Pradesh, BJP candidates are leading in the Samajwadi Party strongholds of Azamgarh and Rampur in the Lok Sabha by-elections. The BJP-SP battle is on for the seats vacated by Akhilesh Yadav and Mohammad Azam Khan as UP legislators. In SP’s stronghold of Azamgarh, the SP candidate is Dharmendra Yadav, a former MP from the Mulayam family. Bhojpuri actor Dinesh Lal Yadav is contesting for the BJP.
