CahorSauzet Basket’s two senior squads are set for challenging matchups in the Quercy Garonne committee cup quarterfinals.
- CSB 1 will face Prayssac Basket Club 1 with a twenty-point handicap.
- CSB 2 will compete against the top team from Caussadais Sporting Club, starting with a fifteen-point advantage for the Lotois team.
- The seniors 3 team will also be in action, playing in the round of 16 of the Christian Miron Trophy.
- CSB 2 recently secured a crucial win against Labastide-du-Temple 1, boosting their qualification chances.
CSB 1 (pre-national) will travel to play their close neighbors, Prayssac Basket Club 1 (pre-regional). The “yellow and blue” team will begin the game with a twenty-point deficit. Interestingly, Jonathan Castanier, the CSB 1 coach, also plays for the Prayssac club, and Philippe Rouchy, the CSB 1 assistant coach, is likely to take the helm for CSB during this match.
CSB 2 (regional 3) faces a tough challenge against the first team from Caussadais Sporting Club (pre-national). The “yellow and blue” Lotois team will have a fifteen-point head start, and the game will be played at the Cahors sports center.
The remaining two quarter-final matchups will see Moissac Castelsarrasin basketball 1 (plus fifteen points, regional 2) against Montauban 1 (national 3), and Montauban 3 (plus seven points, pre-regional) hosting Montauban 2 (regional 3).
Christian Miron Trophy and Recent Results
The seniors 3 (pre-regional) team will also be competing on January 3, 2026, in the round of 16 of the Christian Miron Trophy, taking on Moissac Castelsarrasin basketball 3 (pre-regional).
Last Saturday, CSB 2 secured a replay victory over Labastide-du-Temple 1 in a regional 3 match, with a final score of 81 to 89. This second consecutive win has propelled the seniors 2 team back into contention for a spot in the upper group.
Currently, they stand fifth at the halfway point, only one point behind the four teams qualifying for the next stage.
