The Independent Media Movement plans to hold a “Black January Commemoration Event – 2022” on January 26 at 5.00 pm in the auditorium of the Sri Lanka Press Institute.
The theme of this year’s Black January is ‘Justice for Murdered, Disappeared, Assassinated and Threatened Journalists’.
The annual Black January commemoration event is routinely organized to press for justice for the country’s journalists who have faced various forms of violence in the media industry in the face of asserting their right to information, regardless of the threat to their lives.
As preparations for this continue to take place this year, the full support of the media has been sought.
