He Calvia town hall (Mallorca), governed by PP and Vox, continues with its inflexible policy against excess tourism. This summer, the Local Police has fined five foreign tourists for going from one balcony to another in hotels in Magaluf, as reported by the City Council on Tuesday.
In a press release, the City Council reported that the Local Police have denounced the cases and identified those responsible. Each of them has been fined a penalty of 36,000 euros and immediate expulsion from the hotel where they were staying..

“Balconing is not tolerable in our municipality, it is an irresponsible practice that can cause serious irreversible injuries and even death. Of course, it is the last thing one would want for those who visit us. This is not leisure, it is very dangerous irresponsibility and it is not the image we want for our municipality,” Feliu said.

The latest case of ‘balconing’, as reported by the City Council, was detected at 6 in the morning when a tourist jumped from one balcony to another. The corresponding sanction and expulsion from the establishment has been applied.
