‘Can’t live in India, told my children to settle abroad’: RJD leader’s remark made by BJP controversial

Patna: The BJP has contested the remarks of RJD leader in Bihar that the conditions in India are bad and that he advised his children to get jobs and citizenship abroad instead of living here.

RJD’s senior leader and National General Secretary Abdul Bari Siddiqui made the remarks. The said reference was while talking about the problems and discrimination faced by Muslims in India.

”I would like to cite a personal example to tell how the situation is in India (desh ka jo mahaul hai). I have a son studying at Harvard and a daughter who graduated from the London School of Economics.

I asked them to work abroad and get citizenship there if possible. Because such is the atmosphere in India. I don’t know if they can handle the situation here

When my children responded by pointing out that I am still living here in India, I told them that they cannot face the conditions in India,” said Abdul Bari Siddiqui during an event in a video circulating on social media.

Meanwhile, BJP spokespersons and leaders are reacting in harsh language against the RJD leader’s remarks.

“Siddiqi’s remarks are anti-India. If he finds it so difficult, leave the privileges he enjoys here as a political leader and go to Pakistan. No one will stop him.

Siddiqui is a close supporter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. “His words are a reflection of the RJD culture of appeasing Muslims,” BJP spokesperson Nikhil Anand responded.

Meanwhile, its ally JDU has supported Siddiqui’s remarks.
