The incident in which 3 people including a couple were killed in a collision of a college bus with a car has caused a great stir.
Muthukumar and Rajeswari have been living in Srirangam area in Trichy district. The couple took their cousin Periyakkal, an old woman, to the temple in Tenkasi by car. The car was driven by Muthukumar. As Rajapalayam was approaching the government hospital, Muthukumar’s car collided head-on with a private women’s college bus. All three occupants of the car were trapped in the rubble and died at the scene.
Police rushed to the spot, seized the bodies of the three and sent them to a government hospital for autopsy. Ramasamy, the driver of the injured college bus, and students Vijayalakshmi, Abhinaya, Haripriya, Divya and Jaya Veeralakshmi have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case and are conducting a serious investigation.
