The Girona counties have closed the month of October with the registration of 1,079 passenger cars, 18% more than a year ago, according to the data from the employers’ association Anfac. The Girona car market continues to record better figures than a year ago. In the first ten months of the year, up to 9,546 cars have been sold, 11.9% more than in the same period in 2022.
The package consisting of electric cars, hybrids i of gas it represents more than half of the sales made in October in the demarcation, specifically 57% of the cars registered in Girona’s counties belong to this group, with 615 units. Hybrid passenger cars, with 387 cars registered, lead the sales within this group and register a year-on-year increase of 18.3%. It is followed by plug-in hybrids, which with 64 units increase their sales by 33.3%; electric ones, of which 93 vehicles were registered, 173.5% more than a year ago; and gas cars with 71 units, 688.8% more.
Vehicles with non-conventional fuels are the only ones that register positive data in terms of sales in the Girona regions during the month of October. Girona closes the month with 402 cars from Gasoline enrolled2.1% less than a year ago, while the demarcation’s car market ends October with a 27% drop in car sales diesel, with 62 registered units.
As for the cumulative year, the package made up of electric, hybrid and gas cars, with 4,785 units, represents up to 50.1% of the sales that have been made between January and October in the demarcation . This type of vehicle is followed by petrol cars, with 4,049 cars registered this 2023 and a market share of 42.4%. Diesel vehicles, with only 712 sales, are the only ones to register negative data compared to last year. In particular, registrations have fallen by 14% so far this year.
More than 10,000 registrations
In Catalonia, the registration of passenger cars closed October with one 22.9% increase with respect to the same month last year, with 10,831 units. In the State as a whole, sales of passenger cars have registered a increase of 18.1%, with a total of 77,892 registrations.
“If the rate of growth is maintained in November and December we could exceed 940,000 units.
