In Sri Lanka, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjit has said that if the country’s leaders truly say that they had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks on the Resurrection Day in 2019, they should not be afraid to conduct investigations into the attacks.

Cardinal Ranjit, who preached at the healing prayer service held at the country’s Ragama Basilica on Sunday, August 21, said that the recent disturbing events in Sri Lanka reveal that tyranny and sin have ruled the country for the past 75 years.

We want to see a change in the system in Sri Lanka, while asking for a change in the lives of each one of us, Cardinal Ranjit complained that the rulers who promised to make Sri Lanka a better country in Asia, have left the country in a very bad state.

Cardinal Ranjith also expressed concern that more than 25 percent of people in the country struggle for food in a day.

A large number of bishops, priests, religious and laity participated in the healing and consecration of the sick held throughout Sunday at the Ragama Basilica, located approximately twenty kilometers north of Colombo.

It is noteworthy that the families of the victims of the terrorist attacks carried out in the country in 2019 on the celebration of resurrection, brought their photographs to this service and prayed for them. (UCAN)
