Carlos Manera won again. Second consecutive victory. He was proclaimed champion together with Fede Norman, after almost 6 days and 16 hours, of the Mini Fastnet, one of the most emblematic regattas that leaves from Douarnenez France, goes to the mythical rock of the Fastnet in Ireland and back with a total of 600 nautical miles (1,111km). It was a very hard race marked by little wind, an average speed of 4kt. From Tuesday the duo took the lead after having made a different tactical decision to the rest of the fleet. “We had a plan to go west, the opportunity arose, we went looking for it and it worked” comments Carlos, who had studied the strategy very well, although it was very difficult due to the little wind. They have made a good team with Fede Norman, they claim to have enjoyed a lot: “It’s about helping your partner, seeing what he needs and sticking to him, that generates that one plus one equals 3” comments Fede Norman, they claim to have been two perfectly united pieces.

Carlos has participated in four competitions this season: two victories, one third and one fourth place. After a year of building the prototype and a lot of work, it is very satisfying to see how it pays off and to be able to enjoy it.

This competition has a double victory since after finishing it, he has achieved the miles to qualify in the great MiniTransat, crossing the Atlantic alone, without communication, without assistance, in a 6.50m boat that will leave in September of this year for the Caribbean.
