The group achieved record results in 2023 thanks to the explosion in prices. Its CEO, Alexandre Bompard, says he is confident of growth in volumes in 2024.

After a year of record growth boosted by high inflation in food prices, Carrefour is approaching 2024 with confidence and hopes to see its sales continue to climb. The group’s global turnover jumped 10.4% last year, to 94.1 billion euros. In France, where the group carries out almost half of its activity, turnover increased by 4.7%. If the operating margin fell slightly, to 2.7%, it was stable in the second half, and the net result increased by 23.1%, to 1.66 billion euros.
