Cataño Fair 2025: 200+ Puerto Rican Artisans

Cataño Fair 2025: A Celebration of Puerto Rican Art, Music, and Tradition Returns

A vibrant showcase of Puerto Rican culture, the Fair in Cataño, is set to return on December 6 and 7, 2025, bringing together artisans, musicians, and families for a weekend of festivities. Revived four years ago with the support of Bacardi and the municipality of Cataño, the fair builds upon a decades-long tradition of celebrating the island’s rich heritage.

A Legacy Reborn

For decades, the Bacardi Fair served as a cornerstone event in Puerto Rico, a place where the island’s traditions – from the soulful sounds of trova music to the intricate artistry of Puerto Rican crafts – came to life. After a 14-year hiatus, the event was reimagined as the Fair in Cataño, quickly regaining its prominence as a cultural touchstone. Organizers anticipate another strong turnout, building on the more than 150,000 attendees who enjoyed the event in its previous edition.

A Showcase for Puerto Rican Artisans

This year’s fair will feature over 200 Puerto Rican artisans, offering a diverse array of handmade goods. Visitors can expect to find unique pieces including carved saints, handcrafted jewelry, leather products, ceramics, stone work, and natural soaps. “This event not only represents an opportunity to generate sales, which are necessary to move the economy of all the homes of the artisans on the island who participate, but also an extremely valuable exhibition opportunity,” stated a representative from the Federation of Artisans of Puerto Rico. “It’s a prestigious event that artisans across the island strive to be a part of.”

The dedication of these artisans is significant, with many spending nearly a year preparing their collections for the fair. As one artisan explained, the Fair in Cataño often marks the opening of the crucial Christmas sales season. The Federation of Artisans of Puerto Rico, founded in 2018, has been instrumental in highlighting the value and artistry behind these handmade creations. “It is important that people value the effort and sacrifice that artisans go through when creating their pieces,” emphasized a leader within the Federation. “They must know that they work with love and with that faith that each person who takes that piece can take a little piece of Puerto Rico and the soul of the artisan to their homes.”

Music, Food, and Family Fun

Beyond the artisan marketplace, the Fair in Cataño promises a lively atmosphere with a diverse musical lineup. Saturday, December 6, will feature performances by Tripander, Christian Alicea, Plennaleao, Algarete, Rabanes, Pledrero, Jovaan, and Yan Block. Sunday, December 7, will showcase a trova competition, Peak to Peak, followed by performances from Please Full, Gerardo Rivas, La Abban, and a headlining set by La Sonora Ponceña.

The event is designed to be family-friendly, fostering a sense of community and celebrating Puerto Rican identity. “For many, the Fair in Cataño is more than a cultural event, it is a reminder of what we are as a people,” noted an event spokesperson.
