The British royal family was shocked by a sudden death last weekend: Thomas Kingston, the husband of Lady Gabriella, died at the age of 45. Buckingham Palace announced this in an official statement a few days later on Tuesday.
Gloucestershire coroner Katy Skerrett has now announced that Thomas Kingston died as a result of a gunshot wound. This is reported, among others, by the British newspaper “Daily Mail”. After the investigation, police declared his death “not suspicious.”
His father found him
“Mr Kingston was visiting his parents in the Cotswolds. On February 25, 2024, he had lunch with his parents. His father went out to walk the dogs. When he returned, Mr Kingston was not in the house, and after about “His mother went looking for him for 30 minutes,” Skerett reconstructs. His father eventually forced his way into a locked building on the property and found his son dead. There was a pistol nearby.
Lady Gabriella is the daughter of Prince Michael of Kent and the great-niece of the late Queen Elizabeth II. She and financier Thomas Kingston met in 2015 and tied the knot four years later in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Thomas Kingston was previously briefly in a relationship with Pippa Middleton, Princess Kate’s sister.
