The president of the International Pelota Federation (FPIV), Xavier Cazaubon, considers that the withdrawal of the point of the change in the statutes which, if approved, would have allowed the Basque Country to be a full member of the extraordinary assembly held on Saturday in Mexico was “the most honorable measure to safeguard the institution.” In an interview with the Diario de Navarra, the president stressed, however, “that he was led to believe that the vote was going to mean the seven plagues of Egypt when the last word rests with the Higher Sports Council (CSD).”
