The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) is scheduled to meet on Wednesday and Thursday, June 25-26, 2025, at CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. The meeting will center around reviewing and voting on recommendations for vaccines, a crucial process in safeguarding public health. This gathering comes after a significant overhaul of the committee itself, announced earlier this month by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
The recent changes to the ACIP reflect an effort to bolster public confidence in vaccine science. On June 9, Kennedy Jr. Announced a “clean sweep” of the committee, removing the 17 previously sitting members and replacing them with eight new appointees. This move signals a renewed focus on transparency and public trust in the vaccine development and recommendation process. The ACIP is comprised of leading medical and public health experts who advise the CDC on the safety, effectiveness, and clinical necessity of vaccines.
Meeting Details and Public Access
The ACIP meeting will run from 10 a.m. To 5:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 25, and from 8 a.m. To 1 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 26. For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will be available to the public via live webcast, with a link to be posted on the ACIP website on Wednesday morning.
Members of the public interested in attending the meeting in person must request credentials by emailing [email protected]. Credential requests must be submitted by Tuesday, June 24, at 1 p.m. ET. The CDC emphasizes that access information will only be provided to those who have successfully requested credentials.
Opportunities for Public Comment
The ACIP values public input and provides two avenues for members of the public to share their perspectives. Written comments will be accepted through the Federal eRulemaking Portal, identified by Docket No. CDC-2026-0199, from March 2–12, 2026. All submissions will be posted publicly on regulations.gov.
the June 18–19, 2026 ACIP meeting will include a period for oral public comment. Individuals wishing to speak must submit a request no later than 11:59 p.m. EDT on March 12, 2026, as there will be no further opportunity to register after that date.
Looking Ahead
The upcoming ACIP meeting represents a critical juncture in the ongoing effort to protect public health through vaccination. The newly constituted committee will be tasked with carefully evaluating the available scientific data and making informed recommendations regarding vaccine schedules and usage. The draft agenda for the June 25-26 meeting is available on the ACIP website. The next scheduled ACIP meetings are March 18-19, and June 24-26, 2026.
