International Journalists’ Solidarity Day was celebrated at the Russian House in Dhaka. On Tuesday (September 10), a press conference was organized by the Russian House in Dhaka on International Journalists’ Solidarity Day. Young media workers participated in it.
Director of Russian House in Dhaka Pavel Dovichenkov gave a welcome speech. He mentioned that every year on this important day an annual press conference is organized jointly with Bangladeshi media representatives. The Russian House is deeply grateful for the support it has received through the media to promote its activities.
“On International Journalists’ Day of Solidarity, we recognize the challenges that journalists around the world face—such as the risks, pressures and sacrifices they have to make for their profession. We support their security, freedom and right to work without fear or prejudice’ – said the Director of the Russian House.
He also mentioned that Russian House in Dhaka is committed to supporting a free and dynamic media environment. In today’s world there is a need for open discussion and increased mutual understanding.
He recalled that every year Russian House organizes short-term introductory visits to Russia for Bangladeshi citizens to participate in the ‘New Generation’ program and other events. In October-November 2023, seven media representatives participated in two program tours and about ten journalists participated in the World Youth Festival held in March 2024.
Participating journalists expressed their gratitude to Russia for the opportunity of the ‘New Generation’ program. In the second part of the program, the Russian family comedy movie ‘Cheburashka’, directed by Dmitry Dyachenkov, is screened.
‘Cheburashka’ is a bright and colorful experience that brings back the beloved character of many generations to the big screen. Its bright and colorful scenery and memorable tunes create a special atmosphere and have a beautiful effect.
