celebrity Race across teh World Series 3: Route, Cast, and How too Watch the BBC’s Epic Adventure
Table of Contents
The BBC is gearing up to launch the third series of Celebrity Race Across the World, promising a thrilling competition that could rival the popularity of Celebrity Traitors. This installment features a star-studded lineup embarking on a challenging journey with limited resources and only a map to guide them.
A Race against Time and Budget
Four celebrity pairings will navigate thousands of miles, relying on their wits and resourcefulness to reach the finish line first. Unlike the civilian version of race Across the World, where the winning team receives a £20,000 prize, the celebrity edition offers only bragging rights. Contestants will travel “backpacker-style,” foregoing luxury accommodations, smartphones, internet access, and significant funds.Thay’ll need to find work along the way to supplement their limited budgets, adding another layer of complexity to the race.
The 2025 Route: Caribbean to Colombia
This year’s adventure begins on the idyllic Isla Mujeres, a Caribbean island near Mexico known for its pristine beaches and turquoise waters. However, the celebrities won’t have much time to enjoy the paradise as they embark on a 5,900km race to the remote and stunning Peninsula de La Guajira in colombia – “The Gateway to South America.”
The route promises to be one of the most visually diverse yet, traversing untouched parts of the Caribbean and the Pacific coast of Central America. Previous routes from both the celebrity and original series have included:
- London to Singapore
- Mexico City to Ushuaia, Argentina
- Vancouver to St john’s, Newfoundland
- Marrakech, Morocco to Tromso, Norway
- Sapporo, Japan to Lombok, Indonesia
- Belem, Brazil to Frutillar, Chile
Meet the Celebrity Contestants
An extraordinary cast of four pairings will be testing their limits in this year’s competition. They aim to follow in the footsteps of previous winners, Alex Beresford and his father Noel (Season 1), and Scott Mills and his husband Sam Vaughan (Season 2). The confirmed pairings are:
- Anita Rani and her dad, Bal
- Dylan Llewellyn and his mum, Jackie
- Tyler West and Molly Rainford
- Mike Marsland
According to Tim Harcourt, chief creative officer at Studio Lambert, the production company behind the show, “This series brings a new set of celebrities into that world and what makes it so special is watching them open up, bond, and grow through a life-changing experience. It’s inspiring, unpredictable, and full of those powerful moments that have made the format such a hit with viewers.”
Air Date and Viewing information
The BBC has announced that Celebrity Race Across the World will premiere sometime in November. Based on previous series, the show is highly likely to air weekly on Wednesdays at 9pm on BBC One and will be available for streaming on BBC iPlayer shortly after broadcast. Episodes are expected to be approximately 60 minutes in length.
Will There Be a Fourth Series?

Catherine Catton, head of commissioning at the BBC, stated, “celebrity Race Across the World is always a highlight of the year, and we are really looking forward to setting off with a new group of famous faces and their loved ones on an remarkable journey full of twists and turns.”
