Celebrity Cruises is poised to launch a new era of onboard entertainment with its upcoming ship, celebrity Xcel, debuting in November. The vessel promises a diverse array of offerings, from elaborate theatrical productions to interactive games and destination-inspired festivals, according to company officials.
A New Standard for Onboard Entertainment
“Celebrity Xcel will further elevate Celebrity’s award-winning offering to create a world-class entertainment destination our guests are going to love,” stated Lisa Lehr, vice president of entertainment for Celebrity Cruises. With a dedicated team of over 75 resident performers, the ship aims to deliver “unforgettable experiences and unexpected surprises” throughout every voyage.
The heart of the entertainment will be The Theatre, which will host three brand-new production shows. These performances will feature a stunning combination of talent – including singers, dancers, parkour artists, and aerial performers – alongside cutting-edge technology. Expect to be immersed in a visual spectacle with kinetic lighting, laser video etching, projection mapping, pyrotechnics, and a massive 110-foot curved kinetic LED screen.
A Diverse Lineup of Shows and Activities
celebrity has revealed details of three signature productions. “Mainstage” is described as a high-energy live music concert inspired by the world’s most iconic music festivals, featuring popular hits from across the decades. “Between Takes“ transports audiences to a 1920s Hollywood backlot, complete with vocals, stunts, and choreography. “Chapters” is a “poetic and visually stunning journey through nature, conversion and self-discovery,” offering a more introspective experience.
Beyond The Theatre, The Club will host two interactive shows. “254 West” promises a nostalgic trip back to the 1980s,complete with an after-party atmosphere,while “HOTEL” is a comedic musical mystery designed to engage the audience.
The entertainment doesn’t stop there. Guests can also enjoy piano bar entertainment,country music dance parties,intimate candlelit concerts,and roaming musicians.The popular Shine the Night party will also be featured.
Destination-Inspired Festivities and Interactive Games
The Bazaar area will come alive with four destination-inspired festivals: Carnival, Aqua, Viva, and Flora. These events will celebrate the beauty and culture of The Bahamas, mexico, the Cayman Islands, and the Dominican Republic, with performances and activities that evolve throughout each sailing.
For those seeking a more active experience, Celebrity Xcel will introduce several new games.“High Stakes” is an elimination game show, while “Brain Spin” combines luck and strategy. An escape room-style game challenges guests to bring a robot to life, and a destination-themed mystery game will add an element of intrigue. A retro arcade, Game On, will be located in The Club. Younger cruisers will enjoy Camp at Sea, an interactive digital game wall featuring over 50 new games.

Celebrity Cruises involved guests in the creative process through the Xcel Dream Makers program. Participants had the opportunity to influence key elements of the entertainment offerings, including choosing a featured costume for “Chapters,” selecting the first headline performer for the Theatre, determining the themes for the “Saddle Up Saloon” dance party and “Viva” festival, and selecting props for the “Shine the Night” party.
