Tehran: Even after the arrival of Taliban, diplomatic relations remain between India and Afghanistan. Not only this, Taliban is also ignoring Pakistan for friendship with India. The recent meeting of a high-level Indian delegation with Taliban leaders has made this further clear. On Thursday, a high-level Indian delegation led by External Affairs Ministry Joint Secretary JP Singh met Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki and Commerce Minister Alhaji Nooruddin Azizi. In this meeting, discussions were held to expand political and economic relations between India and the Taliban government. In the meeting, the representatives emphasized on starting bilateral trade between the two countries using Chabahar port.
Pakistan will feel chilli
Pakistan is definitely going to be in trouble due to the departure of Taliban on Chabahar. Chabahar port located in Iran has been prepared by India. It is seen as Pakistan’s answer to Gwadar port, which was built by China. This is the reason why Pakistan has been opposing India regarding Chabahar since the beginning. But now the situation is going to get worse for Pakistan when the Taliban, which was once considered its friend, is ready to disobey it and go to the same Chabahar with India. Commenting on the meeting, Taliban Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, “India is interested in enhancing political and economic cooperation with Afghanistan and increasing trade through Chabahar port. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) is an important power in the region. As it seeks to strengthen political and economic ties with India.”
What is the specialty of Chabahar Port?
Chabahar Port is a deep water port in Iran, which has strategic importance for both Tehran and New Delhi. Actually, Pakistan has a land border between India and Afghanistan and Pakistan does not allow trade through land route. That is why India has developed Chabahar Port, so that it can continue trade with Afghanistan and the countries of Central Asia bypassing Pakistan. India is now considering bringing the Chabahar port under the international North South Transport Corridor, which will provide trade routes to India, Iran, Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia as well as Central Asia and Europe.

Taliban has announced investment in Chabahar port
The Taliban government of Afghanistan had recently announced investment in Chabahar Port. The representative of the Afghan government in Tehran had signed the deal with Iran. The Afghan government had announced an investment of $35 million in Chabahar Port. According to Iranian media, the Taliban government is investing $35 million in various projects in Chabahar port and Chabahar free economic zone.
