Key Responsibilities: Technical Leadership and program Oversight

The Technical expert will provide technical leadership and oversight for RI’s health and nutrition programs in Chad.Key responsibilities include:

  • Technical Support and Guidance: Providing technical assistance and guidance to field teams on the implementation of health and nutrition interventions, including primary healthcare, maternal and child health, and nutrition support.
  • Supply Chain Management: Overseeing the procurement, storage, and distribution of essential medicines and nutritional supplies.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Leading emergency preparedness and response efforts, notably during outbreaks or humanitarian crises.
  • Program Quality Assurance: Evaluating and strengthening health management structures and developing guidelines to maintain quality health and nutrition services.

The expert will also be responsible for identifying new health financing opportunities and carrying out regular monitoring visits to assess program progress and effectiveness.

Candidate Profile: Expertise and Experience Required

RI is seeking a highly qualified candidate with a strong academic background and extensive experience in the humanitarian sector. the ideal candidate will possess:

  • an MD or a Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience, with at least three years specifically within the humanitarian sector.
  • Proven skills in proposal development, report writing, and the management of public health projects – including design, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, grant management, and supervision in humanitarian emergency contexts.
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills, particularly with donors and government authorities.
  • Proficiency in project cycle management and monitoring-evaluation tools.
  • Perfect command of both French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience in community participation, field visits, and active engagement in program areas.
  • Practical experience managing teams and programs in remote and resource-constrained environments.
