In response to an oral question on “the importance of the cultural question in public policies”, presented by the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT) group, Mr. Bensaid noted that culture can resolve numerous issues relating to employment, particularly in light of the challenges faced by certain professions due to technological development.
Cultural industries can contribute to the creation of new professions, particularly in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and the gaming industry, which are experiencing remarkable development in the Kingdom, he indicated.
Furthermore, the minister underlined the importance of the support of all stakeholders concerned in the promotion of culture, noting that the ministry ensures coordination between the different government departments, given the correlation between culture and public policies.
In this sense, he called on elected territorial councils, including regions and municipalities, to be responsible for the preservation of cultural heritage and to get involved in the cultural industry, through the development of local projects. which will have a positive impact on the economic and social situation, while meeting the expectations of citizens.
In response to another oral question on “the measures adopted for the preservation and enhancement of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Kingdom”, presented by the authenticity and modernity group, Mr. Bensaid affirmed that the ministry has taken a battery of measures concrete, particularly administrative, measures capable of preserving the national heritage, in particular the carrying out of studies and research necessary to make known the different elements of the cultural heritage, the monitoring and evaluation of studies and technical interventions, the coordination of management work technique of inspections of historical monuments and archaeological sites, the organization and control of archaeological excavation sites and the collection of documents necessary for the production of an inventory of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, in addition to the preservation and safeguarding of heritage national oral.
He also discussed the implementation of legislative and regulatory texts relating to the preservation and protection of cultural heritage, the organization of exhibitions, debates and events, in Morocco and abroad, to highlight the richness of national heritage and the strengthening of legal protection, through the continuous classification of elements of tangible and intangible heritage on the list of national and world heritage.
In this regard, he recalled the conclusion of two partnership agreements relating to the preservation of national cultural heritage through the protection of intellectual property, between the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Moroccan Industrial and Commercial Property Office (OMPIC).
Likewise, he highlighted the importance of allowing artisans and actors active in the field of heritage to benefit from intellectual protection, as well as financing the operations carried out by Morocco to register cultural heritage with international institutions via OMPIC.
