Chamber singer Mirjana Irosch dies – Vienna Volksoper

In the first few years at our house, Mirjana Irosch sang mezzo-soprano roles like Angelina i Cinderella. When she moved to the soprano field, she became the undisputed prima donna. Mirjana Irosch played many major operatic roles such as Giulietta and Antonia (free hoffmann stories,), Micaëla (Carmen), Marie (Sold bride), Musette (bohemian), Martha (Lowland). Mirjana Irosch will also remain unforgettable as a legendary operetta diva, including roles such as Rosalinde (The bat), rows (The gypsy baron), Annina (One night in Venice), Metella (Parisian life), Hanna Glawari (The Happy Widow), Lisa (Land of smiles), Angel (Count of Luxembourg), Sylva (Die Kárdásfürstin) and the title roles i Judith and Countess Maritsa. Mirjana Irosch also took part in numerous guest performances at the Volksoper: Brussels 1974, The Hague 1976, Moscow 1983, USA 1984 and Japan 1979, 1982, 1985 and 1989.

During his 42 years with the company, Mr. KS Mirjana Irosch appeared on stage more than 1,400 times, embodied more than 45 roles and participated in 26 premieres, including one premiere and two Austrian premieres. Her most famous role is Rosalinde (The bat) with 196 evenings.

The Volksoper mourns the loss of a fellow singer and great artist.
