The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rains in the coastal districts and delta districts of southern Tamil Nadu today due to the circulation of the atmosphere.
Cuddalore, Pudukottai, Sivagangai, Ariyalur and Perambalur districts are also likely to receive heavy rains. Heavy rain is expected in one or two places in the south-eastern districts tomorrow.
Light showers or thundershowers are expected at a few places in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry on April 12, 13 and 14. During the last 24 hours maximum rainfall of 12 cm was recorded at Virudhunagar district. Rain has been reported.
Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Gulf of Mannar and Kumarikadal areas due to strong winds today and tomorrow.
