Renowned Filmmaker Mrinal Sen’s Biopic Generates Controversy
The biopic of renowned filmmaker Mrinal Sen, titled ’Padatik,’ has been produced by Kolkata-based director Srijit Mukherjee. Chanchal Chowdhury embodies Mrinal Sen in the movie, while Korak Samant plays the role of the young filmmaker.
The ’Padatik’ movie is scheduled for release on August 15th. A trailer for the film was recently released, sparking controversy due to a nude scene featuring Korak. Social media has been abuzz with discussions surrounding the scene.
Korak addressed the controversy in an interview, stating that he approached the role with professionalism and did what was required by the script. He expressed confidence that his family and audience understand his profession.
Korak has previously appeared in television series such as ‘Mandar’ and ‘Shikarpur,’ and made his big-screen debut with the recommendation of director-actor Anirban Bhattacharya. The film delves into Mrinal Sen’s personal and professional life, and is rumored to cover his iconic Calcutta trilogy from 1969 to 1973.
