jpnn.comJAKARTA – TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto decided to change the name of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) or Terrorist Separatist Group (KST) to the Free Papua Organization (OPM).
This mention follows the increasingly barbaric nature of the KKB or KST. This is stated in the TNI Commander’s Decree Number STR/41/2024 dated April 5 2024.
This step received support from various national figures, such as the Chairman of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet), Member of Commission I DPR from the PDIP Fraction TB Hasanuddin, and Chairman of the Golkar Party Advisory Board Aburizal Bakrie.
Bamsoet said, he supports and emphasizes that the safety of the nation is above all else. Human rights matters will be discussed later, if they have been successfully crushed.
Bamsoet is even ready to step in if there are parties who question human rights regarding the obligations of the TNI/Polri in carrying out law enforcement and carrying out constitutional orders, namely protecting the entire nation and all areas where Indonesia lives.
Member of Commission I DPR from the PDIP faction, TB Hasanuddin, said that the change in designation had political impacts for Indonesia, as well as consequences for how to resolve it.
He reminded that this change in terms cannot be successful if it is only carried out by the TNI, all state institutions must be solid in changing the term KKB to OPM.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Golkar Party Advisory Board Aburizal Bakrie supports the TNI and Polri to act firmly against the group calling itself OPM.
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto’s decision to change the name of the Papuan KKB to OPM was flooded with support.
