Chernyshov Named AHL Rookie of the Month for November
The San Jose Barracuda forward, igor Chernyshov, has been recognized as the Upper Deck AHL Rookie of the Month for November, a testament to his outstanding performance adn significant contribution to the team’s success.
The American Hockey league (@TheAHL) announced the honor on December 2, 2025, acknowledging chernyshov’s pivotal role in the Barracuda’s strong showing throughout the month.He registered an impressive 10 goals and six assists for a total of 16 points, maintaining a plus-8 rating across 13 games.
Chernyshov’s impact was instantly felt, scoring his first goal of the season in a 2-1 overtime loss against the Ontario Reign on November 4. He quickly followed this up with a two-goal performance in a 4-3 victory over the Calgary Wranglers on November 6. A defining moment came on november 11, when his first career hat trick propelled the Barracuda to a dominant 7-0 win against the abbotsford Canucks.
His offensive prowess continued to shine, scoring a shorthanded goal and adding two power-play assists in a thrilling 4-3 overtime win over the Canucks on November 22. Chernyshov concluded November with his third three-point game, contributing a goal and two assists in a 4-3 win against the Colorado Eagles on November 29.
Selected in the second round of the 2024 NHL Draft by the san Jose Sharks, the 20-year-old Chernyshov currently leads the Barracuda in scoring with 10 goals and 19 points in 20 games this season. Prior to joining the Barracuda, the Penza, Russia native showcased his talent with the Saginaw Spirit (OHL) during the 2024-25 season, amassing an impressive 55 points in just 23 games. He also gained valuable experience with the Barracuda in two regular-season games and one calder Cup Playoff appearance.
