Bangladesh Chhatra League has announced a program to plant more than 5 lakh trees in 10 days with the aim of getting relief from severe heat waves and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The target of completing this initiative between 21st to 30th of April this month has been accepted. With necessary guidance and cooperation from agricultural experts and the agriculture department of the government, trees will be planted in the appropriate place in accordance with the rules. Each upazila unit will plant 1000 trees and each educational institution unit will plant 500 trees.
Chhatra League President Saddam Hussain said, Bangladesh Chhatra League, the bloodbath organization of martyrs who led the freedom struggle of Bengal, stands by the country and people’s every need without hesitation, unhesitatingly, at the forefront. Planting trees is one of the solutions to any crisis caused by climate change. Chhatra League regularly conducts tree plantation program every year. On the occasion of Environment Day-2024, Bangladesh Chhatra League has planned a program for inclusion in Guinness Books of World Records by planting one crore trees.
Chhatra League does not want to end its responsibility only by planting trees, also instructions have been given to create awareness among the people by monitoring the trees closely, watering and taking care of the trees and spreading the pictures and videos of this initiative through social media.
