Dharmapuri: Political observers have suggested that Chief Minister Stalin’s participation in the marriage ceremony at the house of the BMC Honorary President in Dharampuri is a plan to attract BMC votes in the Erode by-election.

Bamaka Gauravata President and Dharmapuri District Bennagaram Constituency MLA GK Mani’s wedding ceremony (the wedding ceremony of his brother GKMuthu’s daughter) took place today (16th) at a private hall located along Bennagaram Road in Dharmapuri. Earlier yesterday (15th) there was a wedding reception from evening till night. GK Mani, the current Honorary President of BAMA, was a long-time BAMA leader. He is close friends with many political party leaders, industrialists and officials.

His home wedding reception and wedding ceremony were attended by many dignitaries. Tamil Nadu Sports and Youth Development Minister Udayanidhi Stalin participated in the wedding reception yesterday evening. Ministers MRK Panneerselvam and Municipal Administration Minister KN Nehru also participated in the wedding reception. Thereafter, Udhayanidhi left Salem while the Chief Minister was camping in Salem for the ‘Chief Minister in Field Survey’ project.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Stalin, who had completed the inspection programs in Salem yesterday, left suddenly at night and came to Dharmapuri, participated in the marriage ceremony of GK Mani house and congratulated the bride and groom by giving flowers and returned to Salem around 10.30 pm. In the Erode East Legislative Assembly by-election, the DMK team has a Congress candidate, AIADMK and DMDK candidates in the fray.

Party leaders Anbumani Ramadoss and Sarathkumar had announced two weeks ago that the parties BMC and Samaka will not contest in the Erode East by-election. In this case, political observers have said that there are political calculations behind the Chief Minister, who was camping in Salem for research work, suddenly returned from participating in the wedding ceremony at GK Mani’s house without prior notice.

When they say about this, DMK and AIADMK sides are actively in the field to reap the fruits of victory in the Erode East Constituency by-election. In this context, every vote counts for the major parties. The BMC also has a significant vote bank in this constituency.

While the party has announced ‘no contest’ in the by-elections, Chief Minister Stalin has participated in GK Mani’s house wedding ceremony without prior notice to attract the party’s voters in Erode East. It seems to be a political calculation of the DMK side that when the BAMAK voters in Erode East get to know about this wedding ceremony through the media, there is a possibility that they will be fingered on the election day.
