A group of children was captured with knives on the Malecón of Santiago de Cuba, generating alert among the population of that eastern town, and evidencing the sad childhood that is experienced on the island.

The information was made known by the independent Cuban journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labra on his Facebook account, where he stated that the images were sent by a follower.

In that sense, he specified that the children who were bathing on the Malecón in Santiago de Cuba had machetes, which generated concern among those present.

“The young woman took these images because they are minors, who should be at home studying, after classes restarted yesterday, Monday, but, nevertheless, they are at this precise moment, jumping into the polluted bay, where the drains from nearby neighborhoods flow there,” the journalist wrote in his post, where he also urged the Castro authorities to take measures about this situation.

The comments from Internet users were immediate, who expressed various opinions about this situation.

For some, the fact that these children carry around with knives is the fault of the Castro system and the deprivations they experience in their homes as a result of the failed communist model, while for others this situation arises due to the irresponsibility of the parents.

“How irresponsible the parents of these children are, it doesn’t matter where we live, everywhere there are good and bad people, but we adults are the ones who have to guide them on the right path,” said Alicia Chile.

“And the police are also greatly to blame, they are not there for that… they are there for what is best for them… the time has come that this proverb hits home… here today it is every man for himself… How sad and Everything that is happening to our children is embarrassing, many are going down a very bad path. And then, unfortunately, there is no turning back,” Ramón Falcón pointed out in the comments of the publication.

“That is what creates misery. Children without toys, they have nothing to entertain themselves, they are surely fishing for something. And the parents must be stubborn, without power, without money and without food to give them,” stand out meanwhile Antonio Cantallops.
