The symposium “Children’s Magazines Between Prosperity and Decline”, organized by the Eastern Book Fair 2023 AD, within its cultural program, discussed the history of these magazines and the golden period in which they flourished in the Arab world, and many feared the extinction of these magazines, which formed a large part of the childhood of many young men and women. in the Arab world.
The symposium was hosted by Faraj Al-Dhafiri, Emirati journalist, Asmaa Al-Shamsi, and Egyptian journalist, Dr. Shahira Khalil.
The participants in the symposium emphasized that one of the challenges is the orientation to the English language, as parents are keen for their children to master English, and this is not considered a mistake, but it comes at the expense of our main language, which is the Arabic language, as well as distributing magazines in Arab countries, and finding doors in children’s magazines trying to During which adults are attracted to it, in addition to naming magazines with the name of a certain gender and not the other.
