It was primarily trees that could no longer withstand the force of the sometimes violent gusts of wind in Upper Austria and consequently blocked roads, among other things. In Kematen am Innbach, this led to an accident involving three vehicles. On the Feuerkogel in the morning, the strongest gust barely missed hurricane strength, reported Geosphere Austria. A speed of 118 km/h was measured. However, it could have been a bit more at the Jauerling in Lower Austria. An impressive outlier was measured there: In the morning at around 6.20 a.m., 153 km/h was recorded there. Wind replenishment from Friday The storm will keep the helpers in suspense for a few more hours before the gusts slowly subside in the course of the afternoon. Windy replenishment will follow on Friday, however. The wind freshened up again in the evening hours with a front in Vorarlberg. Saturday will also bring wind, initially blowing stormy from the west in the northern half, but quickly easing in the west and only in the afternoon in the east.
