China could double chip production in five years

Earlier, the US Department of Commerce announced plans to limit the sale of the most advanced AI chips to China. Export restrictions could affect chips from Nvidia, Intel and AMD, as well as semiconductor manufacturing equipment from Applied Materials, Lam and KLA. Amid the reports, as Bloomberg notes, leading chip manufacturers are facing an influx of orders from China in 2023. We are talking, in particular, about the Japanese Tokyo Electron Ltd. and the Dutch ASML Holding NV.
