China believes Japan’s possible tightening of controls on semiconductor exports will harm bilateral and international trade.

As Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru, this was reported by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.

“Relevant measures… will seriously affect the normal trade exchanges between Chinese and Japanese companies, harm all parties, and also harm the stability of the global supply chain,” China said.

The Ministry of Commerce called on Japan not to follow this practice and focus on maintaining supply stability. Otherwise, the PRC promised to take measures to protect the interests of its companies.

Prior to this, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, visiting Guangzhou, told officials that Chinese enterprises were producing too many goods, which was disrupting the global balance and threatening China itself. She noted that there is a particular imbalance in the categories of electric vehicles, batteries, solar panels and semiconductors.
