China to launch manned spacecraft

On Sunday, China will launch a spacecraft. It will carry three astronauts to the main module of the unfinished Chinese space station. Astronauts will work and live there for six months while construction enters its final stages. The upcoming launch is reported by the Xinhua news agency.

The Long March 2F rocket carrying the Shenzhou 14 spacecraft is due to launch Sunday from Jiuquan Space Center. The launch is scheduled for 10:44 local time.

The equipment on the launch pad is in good condition, the crew is fully prepared for the mission, it was noted at the pre-launch press conference.

Shenzhou-14 will be the third of a planned four crewed missions and the seventh of 11 missions required to complete the station. All work should be completed by the end of this year.
