Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Wu Qian said that the information support forces recently formed in the Chinese army will contribute to achieving victory in modern wars.
The spokesman added: “The information support forces are considered a completely new type of strategic forces. They represent a fundamental pillar in the formation and use of networked information systems, and bear a great responsibility in enhancing the qualitative development of our army and achieving victory in modern wars.”
“The formation of the information support forces is of great significance and importance for accelerating the modernization of national defense and effectively carrying out the tasks of the People’s Liberation Army of China in the new era,” Wu Qian pointed out.
He pointed out that “the Chinese armed forces currently consist of land, sea, air and missile forces, in addition to military space forces and cyber forces, as well as information support forces and material-technical assurance forces.”
