Chiyaan Vikram’s highly anticipated film, ‘Thangalan,’ is set to release in theaters on August 15th. The film has generated immense excitement among fans. Director Pa Ranjit‘s period action film features Vikram in the lead role of a tribal leader.
The story of ‘Thangalan’ revolves around the Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) in India. In the 18th century, the British colonized KGF and exploited its gold resources for their own benefit. The film explores the struggles of the indigenous tribes who were forced to cede their ancestral land and resources.
During the filming process, Vikram faced physical challenges. He shot an action scene with a broken rib, and at one point considered amputation due to the severity of the injury.

Vikram recently hinted at the possibility of multiple sequels and a potential franchise based on ‘Thangalan.’ He mentioned the possibility of both a prequel and a sequel, along with other potential storylines.
